TEAM LEADER, RECOVERY COACH & SUPPORT COORDINATOR

Hi, I’m Michelle!

Michelle is our Team Leader at Newcastle Social Workers, bringing over 12 years of experience in mental health, disability, and family support.

With a calm, trauma-informed approach, Michelle supports both our team and the people we work with through her roles as a Team Leader, Psychosocial Recovery Coach and Support Coordinator. She’s worked across the sector—as a mental health support worker, SIL house manager, youth mentor, and in intensive family preservation. She’s also contributed to research with the University of Newcastle, using motivational interviewing to support real, sustainable change for people struggling with addiction.

  • Michelle leads with empathy and integrity, always holding space for people to feel seen, heard, and empowered.

Outside of work, she’s a passionate wildlife advocate, having volunteered with WIRES for over 20 years. Michelle also previously had a successful travelling reptile business!
