FAQ’s

Supporting you with clarity and assurance.

  • A Support Coordinator helps you understand your NDIS plan, connect with the right services, and make sure your supports are working well for you. We help you navigate the system, solve problems, and ensure your supports align with your goals and needs.

Our role is to help you build a stable, effective support network.

  • Specialist Support Coordination is designed for participants with more complex situations, such as psychosocial disability, housing challenges, behavioural concerns, or involvement with multiple systems.

We provide higher-level support to manage risk, coordinate complex services, and help create long-term stability.

This includes working closely with clinicians, housing providers, and other professionals to ensure safe and effective outcomes.

  • No. We do not keep a waitlist. We believe that there should be no need for you to wait to receive the disability supports you need, particularly in a large city like Newcastle that has an abundance of NDIS providers with availability. If we are unable to provide you with services, we will make some recommendations for other high-quality support coordination services in your local area.

  • Yes. Newcastle Social Workers is an independent provider. We do not deliver other services like support workers or therapists.

This means we are free from conflicts of interest and can provide unbiased advice and recommendations based solely on your needs and goals.

Our focus is on helping you access the best possible supports, not directing you toward our own services.

  • Yes. We only work with people who have NDIS support coordination funding or psychosocial recovery coaching in their plan.

We provide level 2 support coordination, level 3 specialist support coordination, and psychosocial recovery coaching.

  • We don't provide NDIS access requests ourselves, but if you get in contact with us then we are happy to point you in the right direction to some services that do. Your local NDIS office is usually the best place to start with this process.

  • Yes. We regularly help participants prepare for plan reviews by identifying unmet needs, gathering supporting evidence, and ensuring the NDIS has an accurate understanding of your situation.

  • We are a registered NDIS provider led by an AASW Accredited Social Worker with extensive experience supporting people with complex disabilities.

    • We work closely with families, clinicians, and other providers to ensure coordinated and effective support.

We always advise people to try to find a provider in their local area first.
